More than 100 residents attend a public meeting. Yet questions remain about the City's response.** A growing rat infestation in Greater Sudbury has residents frustrated and demanding action. Ward 11 Councillor **Bill Leduc** reveals that after receiving complaints from residents, he contacted City staff to investigate problem areas but says he received no response. He also claims the City's CAO initially dismissed concerns about the infestation when he raised the issue. Minnow Lake resident **Sasha McBride** decided to take matters into her own hands after witnessing nine rats in her backyard. Her efforts generated: - 206 Facebook comments - 158 community survey responses - A map identifying reported rat activity - A public meeting attended by approximately 100 residents Despite the turnout, Sasha describes recommendations focused largely on residents cleaning their properties, using green bins, and reporting problems through 311. But what about the City's responsibility? Who is addressing overgrown public property, parks, pathways, drainage areas, and other potential breeding grounds? Why did residents have to organize their own meeting to bring attention to the problem? And why was the City's formal report scheduled for 2027 when residents needed action before winter? Local pest-control professionals explain how quickly rats reproduce, the potential health risks, and what can be done to control the infestation. The bigger question: When residents raise legitimate concerns affecting their neighbourhoods, should they have to fight this hard to be heard? Watch the full conversation and decide for yourself. #LoveTheNorth #Sudbury #MinnowLake #RatInfestation #CityHall #BillLeduc #E2PestControl #CommunitySafety #GreaterSudbury
