Benoit explains that the idea is to create something the community can use in every season. During the summer, the paved trail would be available for activities such as rollerblading and biking. In the winter, the same route could be flooded and transformed into a skating path, complete with lighting along the way. There has even been discussion about decorating the route during the Christmas season to create a lit skating experience through the property. The public sauna is also intended to become part of that year-round experience. Benoit says the concept came through public consultation and ties into both the area's Finnish heritage and the history of Anderson Farm, which once had a sauna of its own. The plan would allow people to warm up in the sauna and make use of nearby recreational amenities throughout the year. He also points to food trucks and other activities as part of the broader vision — turning the area into more than just a single-purpose facility and instead creating a destination where residents can gather, exercise, skate, bike, and spend time outdoors throughout the seasons.
