Full Podcast: https://lovethenorth.ca/article/260929-northern-ontario-animal-welfare-jill Ontario taxpayers fund a provincial animal welfare enforcement system designed to protect animals from cruelty, abuse and neglect. But what happens when people repeatedly report animals in distress and feel that nobody is responding? In this Love the North podcast, Jill from PetSave raises serious concerns about animal welfare enforcement across Northern Ontario. Jill describes cases where residents allegedly contacted authorities multiple times about suffering animals, yet little apparent action was taken. In some situations, she says, animals continued to suffer while concerned citizens and rescue volunteers struggled to get help. **Meanwhile, organizations like PetSave rely on donations, fundraising, foster families and volunteers to rescue animals, provide veterinary care and save lives.** This raises an important question: If taxpayers are already funding animal welfare enforcement, why are charitable organizations being left to shoulder so much of the responsibility? Where are the inspectors? Who follows up on complaints? What happens when reports go unanswered? And who is accountable when an animal suffers because help arrives too late? Jill is calling for greater transparency, stronger enforcement and meaningful accountability throughout Northern Ontario. **Tax dollars at work should mean real services, real accountability and real results.** Animals cannot speak for themselves. They depend on us to protect them. **Are Northern Ontario taxpayers getting the animal welfare services they're paying for?** Watch the full conversation and decide for yourself. #LoveTheNorth #PetSave #AnimalWelfare #NorthernOntario #TaxDollars #GovernmentAccountability #AnimalRescue #AnimalProtection
