She describes delays involving utility markings, sewer and water lines, and even a line that had reportedly been identified as inactive but was later found to still have power. Brandle says those kinds of problems have forced work stoppages and added more time to a project that was already well behind schedule. Her concern is not just that the work is taking too long — it is that the project is happening under the City’s watch. When a City project is delayed because the City or its contractors do not have accurate information about what is underground, who is accountable for the extra time, extra cost, and disruption to residents? Brandle says people living along Anderson Drive have dealt with years of construction headaches, including problems with garbage collection, snow removal, access, and even difficulty selling homes because of the ongoing work.
