For the past 35 years the Elgin Street Mission has served the Sudbury community. The Mission provides physical, emotional and spiritual nourishment to all who enter its doors. The Mission is a Christian based non-profit, non-political registered charity funded by donations from individuals, businesses and churches. As a Mission we do not receive any regular government or city funding but rather functions through the generosity of its community partners. This generous support enables us to offer valuable services at no cost to our clients. The Mission provides two meals a day (breakfast & supper) 365 days a year. With 100, 000 meals being served yearly. We also provide clothing, showers, laundry facilities and are safe refuge in times of need. Individuals and families can also access counselling services, spiritual development and referrals in a non-judgmental community atmosphere. Although hope begins with a meal, the Mission’s goal is not just to feed those experiencing homelessness, but be a positive change agent in the lives we encounter.
